Математический алгоритм, используемый для генерации частотного представления блока видеопикселов. DCT — это обратимое дискретное ортогональное преобразование между пространственной и временной областями. Есть прямое дискретное косинусное преобразование (forward discrete cosine transform, FDCT) и обратное дискретное косинусное преобразование (inverse discrete cosine transform, IDCT).
